About the founder
Howdy yall! I’m Rebecca, a Texas-born dancer, choreographer, and dance educator currently based in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Long before I ever stepped onto a high school dance team, I was a self-taught dancer growing up in Texas. I spent hours learning choreography from music videos, replaying Barbie Swan Lake scenes (oh little 6-year-old me!), and pretending I was in every Step Up movie.
Growing up, I was also a competitive baton twirler taught by my mom, where I earned multiple national titles throughout the years. Looking back, creativity and performance were always part of who I was. My formal dance journey eventually began in high school as a dance team member in Pflugerville, Texas, and later led me to Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where I found my dance community and grew into the performer, choreographer, educator, and leader I am today.
One of the most meaningful moments in my journey came when my high school theatre teacher gave me the opportunity to choreograph for the musical “She Kills Monsters.” At the time, I was incredibly shy, and that experience sparked the confidence, creativity, and leadership that would plant the seed to shape so much of my future.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in many areas of the dance world as a dance educator, coach, choreographer, studio manager, and performance director. Through every experience, my favorite part has always been the people. I love creating spaces where dancers feel welcomed, confident, inspired, and excited to simply enjoy themselves.
Whether I’m teaching choreography, leading line dances, or bringing energy onto a dance floor, my goal is always the same: to create experiences that help people feel connected, empowered, and free to have fun through dance.
While classes and experiences are currently based in Massachusetts, Texas will always be home to me. I continue to host pop-up experiences there throughout the year, and one day I hope to bring the full Taste of Texas experience back home in an even bigger way.
With love, energy, and a whole lot of Texas spirit,
Rebecca
